Cases for Violin, Viola and Cello

Stringed instruments and bows are fragile and require secure cases to provide optimal protection.  We have a wide variety of cases to suit all players from beginner to professional.  Simple but adequate cases start at around £20, extending to more luxuriously finished cases such as the Travelite and other European and far eastern cases with prices ranging from £49 to around £140.

In addition we can also supply an excellent range of cases from well known makers such as Hiscox, Gewa and Bam.

 

 

 
Hiscox is an English firm offering finest quality lightweight protection for musical instruments.  Their 'Liteflite' construction uses A.B.S. which has a unique balance of properties providing cases which are strong, tough and rigid over a wide temperature range.  The aluminium valance, unique to Hiscox, extends deep behind the plastic shell. and has all fittings riveted to it.  This design increases the rigidity of the case and ensures a solid location of lid to base. For violin, viola and 'cello cases, prices start at around £70, £100 and  £220.

 GEWA is a German firm which offers a selection of  top quality violin, viola and cello cases including the Jaeger range.  These are sturdy, well constructed and stylish cases with replacable covers, and all materials and fittings are of the highest standard.  There is a comprehensive selection of shape, weight, colour and fittings with prices ranging from around £120 for a standard violin case to approximately £1,200 for a case with cow hide exterior, suede interior and gold-coloured fittings.

 

 
BAM cases are made by a French firm using a patented 'Weather Guard' technique with unique insulating properties which provide outstanding protection from temperature changes and everyday knocks. Polyurethane foam which is injected arounded a mould the shape of the instrument penetrates the alveolate frame and solidifies within it providing durability and lightness.  A single layer of velvet is added to ensure extra thermal protection.  The full-size music compartment is expandable.  There is a variety of models starting from around £140.
